A slightly different Valentine's Day...

We have just mentioned on the blog about consumerism, creating a spiral of frustration, imposing pressure, and now another opportunity is knocking on our calendar - for some it is joyful, for others sad, for others completely indifferent - to celebrate and spend this time "in some" way . We are, of course, talking about Valentine's Day. Let's take a look at this day and see what all the fuss is about.

How long have we known Valentine's Day?

Valentine's Day is commonly referred to as the holiday of love.
It all started with Saint Valentine, who is considered the patron saint of people who feel something more for themselves.
Celebrating Valentine's Day is not necessarily the result of the influx of pop culture from the United States.
They have been celebrated in southern and western Europe since the Middle Ages.
The rest of Europe joined later.
There have been many misunderstandings and inaccuracies surrounding the figure of Saint Valentine for hundreds of years.
It is probably impossible to determine what was actually true and what was merely added.

The story of Saint Valentine is that he was a doctor and a priest.
He lived in the 3rd century AD Difficult times - he didn't have it easy.
In the Roman Empire, the reigning emperor at that time forbade young men to marry (between 18 and 37 years of age) because the most important thing for him was to recruit soldiers - and the best ones were those who had no families.
After becoming a bishop, Valentine repeatedly broke this ban and married young legionnaires.
He was quickly thrown into prison and sentenced to death.
Supposedly, in the said prison, Valentine fell in love with the guard's blind daughter, who - blessed with beautiful feelings - miraculously regained her sight.
However, this did not save Valentine from execution, which was carried out on February 14, 269.

We don't know what really happened and we don't intend to investigate.

The only thing we would like to emphasize is the fact that you can look at this day with distance, humor and treat it as an opportunity to say important words to the people you love and also to... yourself in the mirror.

Is Valentine's Day boring? Try it differently!

There are many ways to spend Valentine's Day. Various companies exchange proposals.
Any opportunity to spend money is good. But why do you need another mug with a heart...?
unless you need it :)
Today we propose: regardless of whether you are in love (happily or not), whether you have a partner, or maybe you have lost a loved one...
Appreciate yourself and anyone else around you.

You can celebrate Valentine's Day with your child, grandma, dad, brother, cousin, friend...
And that IS an occasion to celebrate! You can also not care about them at all, but a home SPA always tastes delicious, especially on February evenings :)

Okay, we already have company. Even if it's just your own... it's still a great company.

So what now: cinema, dinner at a restaurant, massage, buying some "nice" Valentine's Day thing...?
Oh. Sure, but we can also "de-hearten" this Valentine's Day a little and try something completely new:
• sign up for an interesting workshop, e.g. ceramics, embroidery, jewelry making?
• maybe bake some crazy cupcakes,
• go with your mother or friend to a makeup course,
• give yourself or someone a gift in the form of a handmade cream,
• can actually write a letter (by hand!) and send it,
• you've been going to the swimming pool for months - great, then go there to celebrate Valentine's Day.

You understand - the point is not to necessarily give in to ubiquitous consumerism and buy things that neither we nor the recipients need. If we are celebrating somehow, let's allocate these funds to something that will develop us, maybe spark a passion and love for handicrafts, this or that activity... Love has many faces.
Sitting passively in a restaurant or buying pointless gadgets - you can do better. And it's not about money.
Dressed appropriately for a good mood and lack of pressure, with cheeks rosy from the emotions of learning something new and having another experience in the company of a loved one will enrich you much more than empty, somewhat thoughtless repetition of a habit.

Valentine's Day the Shamasa way

Wherever you go out - whether to the next room or to a meeting - prepare well so that... love radiates from you. The kind of self-love that - if you give it to yourself first - emanates and infects others. Value of values.
These steps will improve your well-being:
1. We always propose home care rituals, this time we refer to those that we have already published here on various occasions: using Mandalla oil, using essential oils...

2. Take care of your hair. What an important issue. Wash with shampoo, make a clay hair mask, spray with rose hydrolate with hyaluronic acid - the effect will be stunning. Here's the set: healthy hair.

3. Wrap yourself in a beautiful scent. It really has a positive effect on your well-being! If we can offer one piece of advice... ditch the chemical mixtures. Check out cream perfumes or our botanical fragrances.

4. And finally... a series that will make you blush.
*A mist that promotes interpersonal relationships,
*Smart shower oil,
*A blend of essential oils that promotes closer relationships.

so how? Do you celebrate on February 14th?
